# Premium performance

**Premium Performance** refers to the special in-game effects and heightened presentation that bring extra excitement and energy to your runs in Meteorn Run. It is the defining feature that distinguishes the game's two play modes.

### **What Premium Performance Is**

Premium Performance is a set of enhanced visual and gameplay effects — dynamic presentation, dramatic moments, and a more intense, high-energy experience during a run. It changes *how a run feels to play*, making sessions more vivid and engaging.

### **How It Relates to Game Modes**

Premium Performance availability is tied to the active game mode:

* **Safe Mode** — A predictable, beginner-friendly mode with **no premium performance**. Runs progress at a steady, consistent pace, making it a relaxed way to learn the stages and enjoy the game at your own rhythm.
* **Challenge Mode** — A high-intensity mode where **premium performance is always active**, delivering dramatic, high-energy runs. Outcomes vary more from run to run, making each session exciting and unpredictable. Best suited to experienced players who enjoy a more demanding, dynamic style of play.

### **When It's Active**

The active mode — and therefore whether premium performance is available — is scheduled daily on a server-managed calendar and applies to all players simultaneously. The schedule is announced in advance through the official calendar (in-app and on social media), so players can plan which days to play. Mode switching is server-authoritative and cannot be altered on the client side.
